YA Scavenger Hunt Fall 2018!

Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt!

Hello! I’m Brenda Drake, your host for this leg of the hunt.

About Me

I’m addicted to Gold Fish crackers.

My favorite color is red. But I must say that since seeing the THIEF OF LIES book cover, purple is changing my mind.

I have two cats. One I named after the heroine in the Library Jumpers series, Gia.

I have a legit obsession for Imagine Dragons!

Somewhere on this blog hop, I’ve hidden a playlist for SEEKING FATE (The Fated, Book 3). Before you go looking for it, check out the amazing author I’m hosting.

But, first, a few rules.

This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors…and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online until October 7 at noon PST!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are SEVEN contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the BLUE TEAM–but there is also a red team, an orange team, a purple team, a green team, a pink team, and a gold team for a chance to win a whole different set of books! If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, see links to all the authors participating, and see the full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page.

Now that all the technical stuff is out of the way, I’ll introduce the author I am hosting on this hunt.

Today, I’m excited to be hosting my friend, Roxanne Lambie, on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt! The book Roxanne is showcasing in the YA Scavenger Hunt this season is QUANTUM.

Here’s a little something about Roxanne and her amazing novel …

Bio:

From an early age, Roxanne Lambie fell in love with books and storytelling. Her work as a professional pilot kept her busy, but she never gave up on her dream of writing. It was the combined love of both that sparked QUANTUM.

When she isn’t sitting at the computer or flying high in the skies, you can find her relaxing at home with her family and dreaming about their next vacation.

Book Blurb:

Seventeen-year-old student pilot, Willow Ryan, can be in two places at once, but she doesn’t know it.

While on a solo flight, she is transported from Texas to Ireland where she meets a stunning Irish local, Liam Tyl. During her visits, he tries to help her unravel the mystery of how she appears and disappears, but their time together is always short lived.

At home, she has no memory of Liam or her travels to Ireland. There are chunks of time that she can’t account for—moments with her friends and family. Most importantly, memories with her ailing Mom that can’t be replaced.

Liam reaches out to her through letters, and together they discover there are two versions of Willow. Now she must learn how to navigate between her two realities without losing the new love in her life or her family back home. An accident proves that she may be too much like Schrödinger’s cat, and leaves Liam and Willow both questioning her survival.

Quantum Tidbits

(Never Before Released Info)

Here are some “nuggets” from QUANTUM that my readers don’t know. Little pieces of information that I haven’t shared until now:

  1. Quantum was originally titled, “Chloe”. My MC, Willow, was changed from Chloe in early drafting.
  2. Willow’s birthday is August   , the date I wrote the first sentence and Willow was “born”. Liam’s birthday is January 29, the day I wrote the scene where he tells Willow his birthday. (I’m a slow writer)
  3. The Lightning Strike by Snow Patrol was my most listened to song while writing. Listen here:
  4. Willow’s airplane is N890RG, a play on the first airplane I ever flew solo, N89090, and my maiden name, Roxanne Griffin.

I’m also hosting a giveaway!!!

WIN!!!!!!! A signed copy of QUANTUM, cashmere scarf, an oak leaf pendant, “Remove Before Flight” key chain, sticker and bookmarks!!!!
