After weeks of deliberation and tears and sadness, we are sorry to announce that there will not be a Pitch Madness contest this year.
We hope you’ll continue to take advantage of the programs we are offering, like query and first page workshops, webinars, the forum, upcoming mentee/mentor Twitter chats, movie events, and #PitMad in March.
Many things conspiring against the running of Pitch Madness in 2018. Pitch Wars needed reorganized, and it’s become it’s own business which has taken a lot of effort. We’re organizing more things behind the scenes, updating our website to avoid issues that happened last year, and our additional programs are taking time. Pitch Wars 2018 will be sooner and longer this year. As well, Brenda has been having a lot of family health issues that have been taking her time.
We hope to begin the query and first page workshops earlier this year as well, so you’ll be able to use them to help you revise in time for the earlier Pitch Wars submission window.
We want you to know how grateful we are for your support of the Pitch Wars community.

I’m also sad, but… I get it. And I wish you and Brenda all the best – family and health are all we have at the end of the day. I had to drop out of PitchWars last year – I’d gotten some interest but that same day was HIT BY A DUMP TRUCK and had to take some time to pull my spine, and my head, and etc back together. Having mastered typing with the use of 1.5 hands, my MS is leaner and meaner than ever before.
You’re changing people’s life courses (and those of their families) for the better! In the writing community, there’s ALWAYS an elevator sent back down – and if you’re deserving, someone to carry your butt in if you can’t even crawl. You ladies have perpetuated that – never forget it! <3

Just so grateful for everyone connected with these contests and all the generosity shown to those of us still trying to “make it.” All the best to Brenda and her family as I can empathize with serious health struggles and loved ones. Looking forward to PitchWars!

What is the difference between Pitch Madness and #PitMad?

Pitch Madness is a mini Pitch Wars that only revises the query pitch and first chapter and then has an agent round.
#PitMad is a one day Twitter Pitch contest using tweets with hashtags so agents can search what they’re looking for and request by liking the tweet. There’s a page all about #PitMad on the menu of the Pitch Wars.org homepage.
