Meet Stacey Nash and Steph O’Neil
Team: #teamtk since we are both apparently bad at titling. 🙂
Stacey Nash (Mentor), tell us a little about yourself.
I probably spend far more time reading than I should, but that’s okay. It means I’ve bred avid readers. I love reading anything YA, and over the past year that love has branched out to NA as well. My favourite series include The Lux Series, Under The Never Sky, and anything written by Colleen Hoover. When it comes to my own writing, it’s all adventure filled stories with a good dose of danger, a smattering of romance, and kissing. Gotta have loads of that.
Steph O’Neil (Mentee), tell us a little about yourself.
I try to read across the board. If I can get a great mystery with a serious side of swoon, especially in science-fiction or fantasy, then there is nothing else I could want in this world. My favorite series include: Harry Potter, The Grisha Trilogy, The Curse Workers, Joe Ledger, and The Dresden Files. As for writing, I try to write what I want. I’m a big believer in comic relief.
Stacey, why did you decide to participate in Pitch Wars?
Pitch Wars is a contests I’ve entered, watched, urged friends to enter and basically admired for many years. I met the majority of by CPs through it and even the girls I co-blog with. So when Sharon asked me to co-mentor with her, I had to say yes. It’s great to be able to give back.
Steph, why did you decide to participate in Pitch Wars?
I entered Pitch Wars after a friend of mine told me about it. I’ve been writing for a few years and mostly keeping my writing to myself. It felt like the perfect time to “put myself out there” and break down any internal fear I had about sharing my work. So far, it has been a wonderful experience. My mentor is a perfect fit for me, and it is amazing to work on my book with the vision of an experienced writer who “gets” my book the way I do.
Stacey, what are you most excited for?
I’m really excited to be working with Steph to make her fabulous story shine.
Steph, what are you most excited for?
I’m really excited for my book to be better. I worked really hard on it before PW and knew it was the best I could get it on my own. I knew it wasn’t perfect, but I also didn’t know how to identify or fix what was wrong with it. It’s amazing to be able to move beyond what I can accomplish by myself.
Steph, describe your novel in 3 words.

Steph O’Neil, Team Mentee
I am a former film student, former Hollywood assistant, former grad-student, and now a high school English teacher. My friends (and students) tell me that I don’t know the meaning of the word favorite, but there is nothing wrong about loving without reservation and being passionate, an anti-hipster, so to speak. I live in Virginia where I clean less than I should, read and write as much as I can, and take pride in being an awesome auntie.
Stacey Nash, Team Mentor
I am an author, mother, and wife, but not always in that order. It all depends on my muse, really. I live in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Australia, where the beauty and culture of the area constantly provides inspiration for my writing.
Check out all of Stacey’s books here.
Blurb
Jordan Hays knows just how precious life is; that’s why he has his own mapped out. He’ll work to pay his way through university while he studies hard, regardless of the constant distractions. Because when it comes to becoming a nurse, he’s deadly serious. He won’t fail to save someone again.
But Hex Penton is way too similar to the sister he lost, and even though the only thing more fun than stupid dares is the crazy girl who sets them, Jordan needs to make a choice. Hex believes every moment is important; every opportunity must be taken, because you never know when the world will be yanked out from underneath you. With the foundations he’s based his life on shaken, Jordan must discover what’s more important: making sure Hex’s life isn’t wasted, or remembering how to live his.
IT’S TIME TO PLAY TRUTH OR DARE.

This sounds like an exciting project. I am a high school administrator in New Jersey and I am always looking for opportunities for students. I am looking forward to seeing how Stephanie develope her book. However, I am more drawn to Fame Gone Bad ” than” Boys, Brains and Paparazzi “.(JK). Good luck Stephanie!
