Title: BUSINESS OF LOVE
Category: Adult
Genre: Contemporary Fantasy Romance
Word Count: 70,000 words
Pitch:
Eros must bind the hearts of two mortals or lose his wings—and one true love—for all eternity. Desperate to hit his mark before time runs out, he orchestrates an office romance. Trouble is, thanks to the Fates, it’s hate at first sight, making his already hard-as-Hades task of turning enemies into lovers a Herculean feat.
Excerpt:
Eros never claimed to be the most prompt Greek god, just the most romantic. But when your hot-tempered boss scheduled a performance review for 9:00 a.m. sharp, love as a forte meant crap over showing up on time.
He pushed open the door to Life Industries by its gilded handle, heart shifting into overdrive as he booked across the polished marble floor. He’d thought about snapping his fingers that morning, but decided against it. Commuting to and from work using magic was forbidden. For everyone, even the Olympians. Typical Zeus. He could be a real son-of-a-titan sometimes.
He hurried through the lobby and over to a wide staircase. He loved his job—binding the hearts of mortals was a fantastic gig—but it got harder to keep the passion alive with every decade that passed. A devastating breakup made it impossible to bring one’s A-game. Imagine that. Forced to create lasting love while dealing with a broken heart. How ironic.
His atrophied wings twitched. One crisis at a time, please. He jostled his shoulders and flattened the feathery nubs against his back. There were more pressing things to contend with, Zeus’s penchant to wield lightning, for one. He pushed up the sleeve of his suit coat and checked his watch.
9:17 a.m.
Gods dammit.
Stomach in knots, he sprinted up the steps. With each tap of his shoe against hard marble, a thought popped into his head.
Zeus. Is. Going. To. Kill. Me.
