Alex “A.J.” Bryan is a former bad boy, on hiatus from his crazy rock star life. Bronte Loughlin’s a teacher ruled by responsibility and forethought. He makes her a little wild. She gives him hope. Their connection is instant and all consuming, but they can’t hide in a Pennsylvania town forever. Soon Alex’s star status encroaches on their lives and has Bronte questioning if love is really enough.

Excerpt:

It was 2:16. Exactly fourteen minutes before take off, and Alex was cutting it close. He couldn’t recall the last time he had a layover, let alone travelled on a commercial airline. The days of private jets were out. Sprinting from gate to gate was in.

He was still trying to catch his breath as he walked down the jetway toward the plane, fixing his well-worn baseball cap lower over his brow. Reaching the entrance of the plane, he adjusted the guitar case over his shoulder and took a calming breath as he passed those really tempting first class seats to the cramped and overcrowded ones behind. He scanned the rows laid out in front of him. Almost everyone was already in place with heads bowed over a book or cell phone, while some inspected their small surroundings, but no one took any extra notice of him.

No one stared. No one made a fuss, pointed, asked for a picture. Nothing.

Between the gate attendant not recognizing him and this, he was sure his star status had not only fallen, but imploded in on itself and turned into a black hole.

Was he just so egotistical he expected to stand out, be treated differently?

He shook the thought from his head. This was what he wanted, what he needed.

To avoid attention.
