I can hardly believe that March is already here. It seemed like it would take forever to come. So I’m celebrating my birthday the entire month of March by giving away gifts to my followers. I’ve picked days that are special to me to shower some lucky winner chosen from both my Blogger follower and Networkedblog lists by Random.org with a gift.

The reason I picked today is because it’s my oldest son’s birthday. Both my boys and I have special relationships, separate and different from the other. Most of my friends always hear me talk about my youngest son, who is a cancer survivor and a great kid. But today, I want to tell you about my oldest. He’s like me in every way. He was stubborn when he was born, refusing to come out and refusing to die even after both his lungs had collapsed. The doctors didn’t give him the night to live. But my sweet boy proved them wrong and survived his rocky start in this world. He’s just as stubborn today. He’s a trailblazer who sets his own pace and never goes on the path traveled by the herd. And he’s fiercely loyal to his family and friends.

I had my son when I was very young. Everyone tried to convince me to give him up. Give him the chance at a better life. I wouldn’t hear of it. I set out to be the best mom I could and show everyone I could be the one to give him a great life. For many years it was just me and my little man, but now at over six feet, he’s not so little anymore. I’m so proud to be his mother. I love his quirky soul and sense of humor. Just look at his picture below . . . need I say more?

So to celebrate my special man’s birthday the lucky winner by Random.org is …

Uhm… I’m having technical difficulties. Comcast is telling me that your email address isn’t an email address. =(

Happy birthday!

What a special lady you are and you must of been a baby when you had him. He’s a grown man…

Loved that story. What a handsome son you have! You look too young to have him so I’m assuming when you say you were young when you had him, you mean like 2? 😉
